After reading a series of articles and a book about "super foods," I decided to widen my grocery shopping scope. The content in these publications shifted the way I thought about food--and grocery shopping. However, if I was going to regularly include these nutrient-packed foods in my diet and still save money, I was going to need an ambitious shopping strategy.
This month’s blog assignment sounds easy: Review your favorite consumer, financial and custom publications. It’s simple to choose your three favorite magazines, but it gets a little more complicated when you throw categories into the mix.
Until recently, Better Homes and Gardens was not among the magazines littered around my bedside table. For me, the title elicited images of frou-frou dining room tables covered in doilies, or living rooms filled with woven baskets decorated in stamped hearts. Maybe my grandmother would find ideas on organizing her sewing room, but I doubted there would be any decorating tips that would make my kitchen bigger without spending any money.
Ironically enough, it was at my grandmother's house that I discovered I was all wrong.
