Overall PC Market Share if iPad were included
This may or may not be a surprise to you, but the iPad isn’t going anywhere soon. If you’re starting to think that this is playing out like a certain other device that took the digital world by storm nine years ago … well, you’re probably right. According to CNET, the estimated number for iPad sales in 2011 is 25 million or more. Yep. Bernstein Research analyst Toni Sacconaghi, however, is quick to admit that this number may or may not be entirely accurate, given that the huge number of early adopters has affected the estimate considerably. But as Peter Kafka from AllThingsD.com’s MediaMemo blog puts it, this is still Apple’s “best-case scenario.” Regardless of the actual number, the iPad has a stronghold on the new tablet computer market, and even on the PC market in general. Here’s a very interesting graphic from Barclays Capital (via MediaMemo) that shows just what that PC market may look like when you throw in the iPad.
