The City of Vancouver is looking for Content Strategists
There’s no surer sign that a new job category is taking root in society than when public service recruitment ads start appearing.
That’s the case with the City of Vancouver – they’re currently advertising for Content Strategists and web writers and editors. According to Rahel Anne (it feels like her names should be juxtaposed, but that’s the way it appears on her posting!) in an accompanying LinkedIn shout out:
“The City of Vancouver is looking for content strategists and web writer/editors We're building an all-star team of content strategists and web writer/editors to "fix the website" - actually, to use content strategy methodologies to wrangle their content into shape. You'd get to work with me, a great UX manager, and a group of enthusiastic, skilled content strategists and writers. You'll find the job descriptions on the City of Vancouver website”.
So, good news if you’re in the words business in Vancouver (pick your way carefully through the debris of burnt out cars courtesy of your disgruntled Canuck fans on the way to your interview, though) – and good news for all of us evangelizing the importance of editorial skills and careful thought in creating digital content for corporations and public service organizations.
