Pace Communications and NBC Universal Pair for In-Flight Supplement Special Featuring NBC's Anticipated New Fall Series

GREENSBORO, NC, August 11, 2006 — Pace Communications, the world’s largest private custom publishing company, has announced that it will team with NBC Universal to produce a special editorial supplement on NBC’s anticipated slate of new programming for Fall 2006. The insert will be featured in the September issues of Pace Communication’s in-flight publications, United Hemispheres, Delta Sky, and U.S. Airways Magazine.

“NBC has created a line-up of top quality programs that will appeal to a wide range of viewers,” said John Miller, Chief Marketing Officer, NBC Universal Television Group. “In pairing with Pace, this is a great way to introduce our new shows to the millions of savvy readers who enjoy these magazines.”

The editorial supplement will contain profiles of NBC's six new shows: "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," "Heroes," "Friday Night Lights," "Kidnapped," "Twenty Good Years" and "30 Rock." Juliette Gray, the former editor of Hamptons magazine, will oversee the publication, which will include interviews with show creators and cast members, in addition to program synopses.

Created by Emmy Award winner Aaron Sorkin ("The West Wing"), "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" lays bare the backstage politics of a popular late-night sketch comedy show. Actors Amanda Peet ("Syriana") and Matthew Perry ("Friends") lead the all-star cast, and "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" promises to be the perfect vehicle for Sorkin’s trademark fast-paced, intelligent style.

"Heroes" is a unique character-driven show built around the lives of ordinary people who discover they have extraordinary abilities. Although awe and mystery surround each episode, the talented cast, including Hayden Panettiere ("Remember the Titans"), Milo Ventimiglia ("Gilmore Girls"), Adrian Pasdar ("Judging Amy"), and Greg Gunberg ("Alias"), emphasize humanity over exceptionality.

The series "Friday Night Lights" incorporates sports and emotional drama for broad appeal, and "Kidnapped" engages audience with drama, excitement, and plot twists and turns that will keep viewers glued to their screens.

Also profiled will be two new fall comedies, "Twenty Good Years," starring John Lithgow and Jeffrey Tambor and "30 Rock," created by and starring "Saturday Night Live”’s Tina Fey along with Alec Baldwin and Tracy Morgan.

“According to the recent Arbitron survey, 80 percent of frequent flyers have read or looked through their airline’s in-flight magazine in the past month,” notes Craig Waller, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer for Pace Communications. “As a result, our publications offer NBC the perfect way to reach audiences looking for quality programming, yet who do not always have the opportunity to follow the introduction of new television shows.”

For more than thirty years, Pace Communications has been producing results-driven, award-winning custom magazines for some of the most recognizable names in the corporate and nonprofit sectors.
