Pace Communications Takes Home The Gold, Silver And Bronze At Eddie And Ozzie Awards GREENSBORO, NC, November 4, 2005 — Pace Communications, the world’s largest privately-owned custom publishing company, received three awards of distinction from Folio: magazine’s annual Eddie and Ozzie Awards at a gala reception in New York City on November 1. The most sought-after awards in magazine publishing, the Eddies recognize overall excellence and adherence to the magazine’s mission statement and the Ozzies, excellence in design. Pace Communications publishes the in-flight magazines for Delta Air Lines, United and U.S. Airways and has won 21 Eddie and Ozzie awards in the last 5 years alone. “The Eddie and Ozzie Awards is the ‘Oscars’ of the publishing world,” said Craig Waller, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer at Pace Communications. “The work of our writers, designers, editors, photographers and illustrators deserves red carpet recognition. They are some of the most gifted in the world and our publications truly reflect their talents. We are grateful for having been recognized for our innovative approach.” Pace Communications received awards in the following categories: United Hemispheres: Ozzie Award - Bronze. Best Feature Design in the Custom/Association/Non Profit Category. Delta Sky: Eddie Award - Silver. Best Magazine (6 or more issues per year) in the Custom/Association/Non Profit Category. U.S. Airways Attaché: Eddie Award – Gold. Best Magazine (6 or more issues per year) in the Custom/Association/Non Profit Category. The Eddies are open to all magazines - consumer, b-to-b, associations and online. Magazines are evaluated against their own mission statements, rather than against the competition. Entrants are also judged on the quality of their content and how the overall design and production supports their mission. The Ozzie Awards are open to all magazines and are given in recognition of excellence in magazine design. A distinguished panel of judges from the magazine industry selects the winners based on design and entry statements. For more than thirty years, Pace Communications has been producing results-driven, award-winning custom magazines for some of the most recognizable names in the corporate and non-for-profit sectors. Founded and owned by Bonnie McElveen-Hunter, the current Chair of the American Red Cross, Pace is based in Greensboro, N.C. Pace Communications can be found on the Web at www.pacecommunications.com.
