United Hemispheres wins top honor at World Airline Entertainment Association 2006 Avion Awards Greensboro, NC (September 27)—Pace Communications, the world’s leading custom publisher, announced that its prestigious United Hemispheres magazine was honored with a World Airline Entertainment Association (WAEA) 2006 Avion Award for “World’s Best Inflight Magazine.” The inflight entertainment offerings were judged for “originality,” “suitability,” “production value,” “content,” and “balance.” The judges evaluated more than 160 samples of inflight audio, video, print, and interactive media that appeared in commercial airline service from June 2005 through May 2006, representing 42 passenger airlines worldwide. This year’s awards were announced during a special ceremony held in conjunction with the WAEA Annual Conference and Exhibition in Miami, Florida. Hemispheres has been recognized in the past for its outstanding inflight entertainment, winning the Avion Award for “Best Overall Inflight Entertainment” in 2000, 2001 and 2004. The magazine has been nominated for “World's Best Inflight Magazine” in the past, but this year marks its first win in the highly competitive category. |
